TCF Atlanta has started compling a list of Grief Counselors recommended
by Members of the TCF Atlanta Area Chapters. For those who feel you
need a grief counselor we want to make this available to you. We
also welcome other recommendations...and feedback.

Ordained Presbyterian Minister
Grief Management Group - Wednesday - 10:00 A. M. - Shallowford Family
The counselor we used is a psychologist. He specializes in family relationships
not necessarily grief. Personally I think he is special because he is a
bereaved parent and I would recommend him highly to anyone who asked.
As a fellow Compassionate Friend and bereaved parent of 19 years, I
am certainly willing to be available to a point for couples who are experiencing
their grief as result of a perinatal loss or otherwise. I have done a considerable
amount of that as chaplain at Piedmont Hospital.

Letter to TCF from Dr. Gorski: I was most pleased to receive the above referenced correspondence from you which included the information that my name was submitted as a recommended grief counselor. I feel honored and appreciative! I am very aware of your program. It's great! I gladly extend permission to be one of your recommended grief counselors. I have worked with families dealing with trauma and tragedy for over 20 years, first for 17 years with Kaiser Permanente's Hospice Program in Los Angeles, the last ten years with them as their Director of Bereavement. Upon moving to Atlanta in 1995, I established a private practice as a Grief and Loss Specialist. I am sure it was one of my clients who recommended me. As a grief specialist, my experience has expanded from loss by terminal illness to loss from suicide, SIDS, homocide, miscarriages and other unexpected losses. I am also a family therapist. In my experience, including family dynamics to better understand the impact of loss on the survivor(s) is most helpful in promoting a full emotional healing to loss. My brochure is enclosed. Thank you again for this opportunity to serve others in need. Sincerely, Leslie E. Gorski Ph.D.
Ron Greer is a pastoral counselor at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church. He is a bereaved parent and was a very active TCF member along with his wife Karen for many years. Karen and their two boys were involved in a car accident and little Eric was killed instantly. Patrick was seriously injured and in the hospital for quite a while. This has been about 15 years ago or so. I have a friend who is seeing him now and he is as wonderful as ever. Letter to TCF from Ron Greer: I would be glad to be included on your list of counselors for The Compassionate Friends. I have been familiar with your excellent work even before I was the recipient of it following the death of our son in 1983. You do not need to put me on your newsletter mailing list since I have been the grateful recipient of your newsletter since that year. Sincerely, Ronald J. Greer
