Parent Speaker - Gale Burgess
Sibling Speaker - Lissa Place
Lissa Place lost her only sibling, Michelle, to suicide
in 1996. She attended national TCF conferences with her parents for
years before deciding to join her local chapter here in 2008. Meeting
her husband, Glen, finally gave her the support she needed to go into the
deep grief she was carrying for her sister. In these meetings
she slowly learned how to talk about the death and the ways it has affected
her. The support she has found both in TCF and Survivors of Suicide
have been instrumental in her getting her life back. Lissa is originally
from Columbus Ohio, where her parents still reside and attend TCF.
She has lived in Atlanta since 1994, and currently lives in East Atlanta
Village with her husband, Glen.
